Singing Practice with What A Good Boy

This is one of my all-time favorite songs from one of my all-time favorite bands.

I've loved to sing it over the years and hope one day to sing it brilliantly.

A cool thing about getting better at singing is, even if I never sing this in public, it's such a joy to sing at home with a better sound and better technique.

Here's a sample of the same song recorded four years ago. Crazy thing is that this version was built from pieces of five different takes and then pitch-corrected.

When you're technique is bad, no amount of pitch correction can make it sound like your pitch is accurate! It still sounds off.

What singing Techniques I'm Practicing

I was really tired when I sang this last night. You can hear my voice break from exhaustion a couple of times.

This week I'm working to enunciate as clearly as possible and to allow for a smooth unbroken legato line. It was hit and miss last night.

I do like parts of it and I'm always appreciative that it's much improved from a few years ago, even if I don't always like what I hear.
